Football team responds to plea for help from Clarksville

Teamwork was on display Monday, as 16 members of the Clear Lake football program traveled to Clarksville to help those affected by flooding.

Dann Douglas Hyde, 65, passed away at St. Luke Lutheran Home, in Spencer, Iowa, on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016.

Graveside services were held on Friday, Sept. 23, at the Ventura Cemetery, Ventura, Iowa, with Pastor Lee Laaveg officiating.

It was a good week for the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura volleyball team, as they picked up a win against Eagle Grove and placed second in a tournament on Saturday.

GHV X-C boys win another title

It was another successful night for the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura cross country, with the boys team winning by a landslide and the girls placing ninth at the Humboldt Meet held on Monday, Sept. 20.

The boys dominated the 20-team field with 54 points.  Humboldt was second with 98, followed by Mason City with 100 and Fort Dodge with 125 points.  Clear Lake was fifth with 126 points.
