GHV cross country boys win Newman Invitational; Clear Lake is runner-up

The Garner-Hayfield-Ventura boys ran away with the title at the Newman Catholic Invitational held Tuesday, Sept. 1, in Mason City.  The Cardinals placed all five of their runners in the top six to win with 19 points.  Clear Lake was runner-up with 66 points.  Mason City was a distant third with 91 points.

Clear Lake and GHV girls X-C teams finish middle of the pack

2 GHV girls GOODThe Clear Lake and Garner-Hayfield-Ventura varsity girls cross country teams both finished in the middle of the pack at Tuesday’s Newman Catholic Invitational.  The GHV team was sixth with 184 points, while Clear Lake was eighth with 230 points.

GHV volleyball team picks up first win of season

The Garner-Hayfield-Ventura volleyball team split a pair of games last week.  The Cardinals fell to Forest City, but came back and picked up their first win of the season against West Hancock.

Forest City 3, GHV 0

The Cardinals hosted Forest City on Tuesday, Sept. 1.

The Indians dominated the first match on their way to an easy 25-8 score.
