Three finalists have been identified in the search for a new Clear Lake police chief.

Paul Ver Meer, chief of the Creston, Iowa Police Department; Jeff Hanson, chief of the Spirit Lake Police Department; and Captain Pete Roth, employed by the University of Iowa Department of Public Safety.

99 Years Ago May 1915

On last Monday night the new bath house, owned by Robert Young and Cal Branson, was broken into and 42 bathing suits, as well as caps and hose were taken.  As yet no clue as to the miscreants has been found.

  Steward and Choate, the draymen, have purchased a new auto bus which they are using to good advantage in transporting passengers.  It is a good looking affair and easy and comfortable to ride in.
