    Mildred R. Burdette, 105, of Clear Lake, died Wednesday July 6, 2011 at Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake. 
    Funeral Services were held on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Clear Lake with the Rev. John R. Tilp officiating. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 16, 10:30 a.m. at the Green Acres Cemetery, Scottsdale, Az.  Family

    Clarine  K. “Claire” Olson, 66, of 213 Asbury Drive, Clear Lake died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011 in Leland, Iowa. 
    Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011 at the Winnebago Lutheran Church, Lake Mills, Iowa with the Rev. William Peters officiating.  Interment will be in Olena Mound Cemetery, Buffalo Center, Iowa.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake and then one hour before the service

    Virginia R. Swandahl, 91, of Clear Lake, died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, at the Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake.
    According to Virginia’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.

    Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, was in charge of arrangements.

    Sadie E. Deets, 87, of Britt, Iowa and formerly of Clear Lake, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2011 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
    A celebration of life service was held Sunday, Sept. 11, at the Summit House in Britt for friends and family.  A private inurnment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City.

Rodney Duane Benner, 93, Clear Lake, died Thursday, July 28, 2011 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa.  
    Funeral services were held Saturday, July 30, at the Open Bible Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Will Hunsaker officiating.  Military honors were provided by the Clear Lake V.F.W. Graveside services were held Monday, Aug. 1, at the Clear Lake Cemetery. Family suggests memorials to the Rodney Duane Benner Memorial Fund.

    Donald “Donnie” Smith, 80, of Meservey, Iowa passed away Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011 at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, Iowa. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 26 at the First Reformed Church in Meservey with the Rev. Rodney Meester presiding. Interment will be at Meservey Cemetery with full veteran’s honors by William J. Schmale Post #171 American Legion, Meservey.     A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 30, at the Clear Lake United Methodist Church, 508 2nd Ave. North, with the Rev. Diana Hoover officiating.  Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery.
