Post-season opens with a big win over Central Springs

by Marianne GasawayClear Lake started its post-season run with a bang.  The Lions (10-13) let their bats provide fireworks in an 11-1 first round District win over Central Springs on July 2.  With the victory they advanced to meet the district’s number one seed, Forest City, on Tuesday.  Clear Lake will be looking to avenge a 13-3 loss to the Indians on June 28.  Results of that game will appear in the next Mirror-

(Above) Interurban, 1897 - July 3, 1897, was a gala day in Clear Lake.  The most significant citizens, the most extensive travelers and the country people all came to town to celebrate.  They stood together awed in silence as they watched the first streetcar come through the streets of Clear Lake.

Myrna E. Hallman

Myrna Elaine Hallman, 65, passed away suddenly, Monday, June 27, 2022 at her home.A memorial visitation was held on Thursday, June 30, from 5-7 p.m. with a Sharing of Memories Service at 6:30 p.m., at Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake. A graveside inurnment service was held on Friday, July 1, at the Clear Lake Cemetery.Myrna was born Dec. 20, 1956, in Tucson, Az., the daughter of Gary and Eunice (Eckhoff) Frerichs. While her father, Gary, served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years, Myrna lived in many places including Arizona, Spain, England, Wyoming and Delaware.
