Decorah stops Clear Lake from advancing

Top ranked Decorah held off a determined Clear Lake team to advance to the State Tournament.  The Vikings hit free throws down the stretch to extend a four-point lead with :48 remaining to a 46-39 victory.

Battle of the Badges to be played March 12

The 11th Annual Battle of the Badges hockey game is being held at the Mason City Arena on Saturday, March 12.  

Battle of the Badges brings local law enforcement vs. fire/EMS together on the ice to support Make-A-Wish Foundation.  

Since the beginning of Battle of the Badges, over $400,000 has been raised for charity.

Former CLHS dance team members having success at National level

Iowa State Dance Team and Pom group has been selected to represent the United States as the U.S. Nationals Pom team at the 2022 ICU (International Cheer Union) World Championship.  Bella Clabaugh and Cale Schmitz, both 2021 graduates of Clear Lake High School and freshman members of the Iowa State Dance Team and Pom group are members of the ISU team.

Brita Hand to lead Briar Cliff women to NAIA National Tournament

For the first time since 2016, the Briar Cliff women’s basketball team will take the floor in the 2022 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Championship Opening Round.  The Chargers earned an at-large bid and are the number three seed in the Wichita, Kan. opening round bracket. They will face the number two seed Mid-America Christian in the first round on March 11 at 2 p.m at the Garvey Center.

Clear Lake falls to Decorah in Sub-State Final
