A proposed community wellness center will appear on a local ballot March 3, 2020, according to Clear Lake school and city leaders.

School Superintendent Doug Gee, City Administrator Scott Flory and Mayor Nelson Crabb said Monday that community meetings and a survey have yielded a good measure of public support for a joint project.  They are now willing to proceed with plans for a facility, which could be developed in phases at Clear Lake High School.

A new medical clinic is coming to Clear Lake.

QVS Medical Consulting was founded in 2015 by Clear Lake native John Brady, DO, and Lenise Kollasch, BSN, RN.  Brady will serve as C.E.O. and Kollasch as C.O.O.

Three uncontested candidates running for Council

Three experienced members of the Clear Lake City Council are unopposed in the Tuesday, Nov. 5 General Election.

Clear Lake First Ward Councilman Mark Ebeling, At-Large Representative Mike Callanan and former City Councilman Gary Hugi are on the ballot.  Hugi is seeking the Third Ward seat currently held by Jim Boehnke.  Boehnke announced earlier he would be stepping down from the Council. Hugi previously served as an at-large member of the Council.

Elaine Joyce Taylor, age 92, formerly of Clear Lake, passed away Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, at Bickford, of Davenport, Iowa.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, at the United Methodist Church, 508 2nd Ave. N., Clear Lake, with Pastor David Peterson and Pastor Linda Johnson-Prestholt officiating. Burial will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery beside her beloved husband, Howard.
