Cruise honors veterans

Veterans served our country, and the Lady of the Lake sought to serve them in return.

Wednesday, June 14 was the seventh annual Lady of the Lake Veterans’ Cruise. In honor of Flag Day, all area veterans were invited to enjoy the complimentary cruise.

God is master contractor at K & B Emporium

Ludvig Wangberg, who conducted the Clear Lake City Municipal Band for 55 years and who the City Park Bandshell is named for, passed away on Saturday, June 17, at the age of 94.

Visitors come from across the country to visit Clear Lake, but often have trouble finding their way to the local landmarks, according to Clear Lake City Council members. However, a new improvement will guide visitors to their destination.

Tough week for the CL Lions

(Above) Jackson Hamlin pitched six innings against Algona.  He gave up nine hits, five runs and struck out nine batters.

After dropping four games this week, the Clear Lake baseball team fell out of the rankings in class 2A. Last week the team ranked sixth in Class 2A. The team moved its record to 9-9 overall and 5-2 in the conference.
