CLHS renovation proceeding on schedule
Work is proceeding on schedule for a new entrance and expansion/renovation project at Clear Lake High School.
Project Manager Tyler Mensink, from Dean Snyder Construction in Clear Lake, said demolition has been completed inside and outside for the $2,104,000 project. Currently, the former courtyard is being readied for new flooring to be poured which will extend the current cafeteria dining space and office to the north.
The kitchen will be expanded and reconfigured for more space and serving area. New seating will allow up to 175 students to be served during two lunch periods. Currently three periods are needed to accommodate CLHS students.
The current office on the northeast corner quadrant of the building will be converted to space for counseling, health and conference rooms.
New stairways will be constructed. One will feature a canopy to make the main entrance, with a new safe entry, more visible.
Bergland + Cram, Mason City, has designed the project. It is being funded with sales tax revenue.
