85 Years Ago August 1930
Superintendent Pease and family, of Buffalo Center, Iowa, arrived in Clear Lake and are nicely settled in their home on North Second Street, which they purchased from the Eleanor Hansen estate.
The hardware store of McGowan and Sheridan has undergone extensive improvements in the arrangement of counters and tables for the display of goods, making selecting and selling articles more convenient to both the customer and the salesman.
Mrs. M.L. Thayer entertained a group of friends at 1 p.m. for a luncheon at the Ritz Hotel in honor of her daughter, Mrs. Ray Junk, of Crockette, Calif. A delightful time was had by all the ladies.
