85 Years Ago July 1930
The Anton Larson stand on the North Shore of Clear Lake was held up at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. At that time two men with white handkerchiefs over their faces entered the stand, each having guns in their hands, but saying nothing. Mr. Larson was in front of the stand as they entered. Apparently the holdup men were scared out when Mrs. Larson, who had been in the kitchen adjoining the front room of the stand, came forward. As they ran they fired two shots in an attempt to frighten the owners.
The Bayside moving picture theatre, owned by C.A. Craggier, has been purchased by the Page and Crane Lumber Co., who will tear the building down and use it for lumber.
