Air Choice One announces service to Minneapolis

Air Choice One has announced that the Department of Transportation has approved extending Air Choice One current Essential Air Service contract to Feb. 28, as well as approving Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport as an alternate hub service for Mason City.

The change in hub service will begin Nov. 7 with 12 weekly nonstop flights to Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport and 12 weekly nonstop flights to Mason City.  There will be 10 weekly flights with one stop, either in Fort Dodge, Iowa or Burlington, Iowa to Lambert–St. Louis International Airport.

Air Choice One began service in Mason City, Iowa on Nov. 17, 2014 and has been providing the community with daily flights to Chicago O’Hare International Airport and Lambert–St. Louis International Airport, since start of service.

“Bringing back this service from Mason City to Minneapolis opens an opportunity to residents of Mason City and the surrounding communities to enjoy what Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport has to offer, including connections to the world,” said Shane Storz, CEO of Air Choice One. Storz hopes that with the Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport - being a hub that Mason City operated into for years will continue to grow passenger ridership, and will help drive passenger traffic up in and out of the Mason City Municipal Airport.

To introduce the new service, Air Choice One is offering introductory base fares starting at $29 each way. Tickets went on sale Monday, Sept. 26 at www.AirChoiceOne.com, or by calling 866-435-9847.

Since 2008 Air Choice One has established air service in Burlington, Iowa, Decatur, Ill., Ironwood, Mich., Jackson, Tenn., Jonesboro, Ark. and Fort Dodge, Iowa.  Air Choice One’s corporate headquarters is located in St. Louis, Mo., and operates out of St. Louis-Lambert International Airport and Chicago O’Hare International Airport as its other airport hubs. The commercial air service in Mason City is provided a fleet of Cessna Grand Caravans, a turbine powered aircraft which offers spacious seating.
