Barbara Duitscher

Barbara Duitscher, 91, of Clear Lake, passed away Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center, in Mason City.

Per her wishes she has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Barbara was born Sept. 14, 1924, the daughter of William and Clara (Martin) McCutcheon.  She was one of four children.  She was a graduate of Goldfield High School.  Barbara went to Hamilton Business College and attained her two year degree.  Barbara was united in marriage to Joel Duitscher on Oct. 4, 1945 and to this union two children were born.

Barb enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and her grandkids.  Playing slot machines, taking her daily drives around the lake, putting puzzles together, cheering for the Hawkeyes and dining out.    

Barbara is survived by her children, Jody (Tom) Babinat, of Grundy Center, Iowa, Patricia (Ralph) Larsen, of Clear Lake; grandchildren, Shane Babinat, Shawna (Scott) Kuiper, Keri Babinat, Kelsey (fiancé – Deven Beitel) Larsen, Bryan Larsen; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Norma Krebs, of Ankeny, Iowa.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joel; a granddaughter; and two sisters.

Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapels, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
