Barbara J. Willier

Barbara Jean Willier, 69, of Mason City, Iowa, died Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, at the Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at the Epiphany Parish St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. John Gossman officiating.  Inurnment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.  Per Barb’s wishes there will be no visitation.

Barbara was born Feb. 8, 1947 the daughter of Kenneth and Naida (Hart) Clark, in Forest City, Iowa.  At the age of two and one-half weeks, Barb’s family moved to Joice, Iowa where she later attended the Joice Public School which later consolidated with Lake Mills.  Barb graduated with the class of 1965.  Following graduation she went on to attend Mankato Business School in Mankato, Minn.

Barb worked at A.C. Nielson Company in Mason City for 17 years, relocating with the company to Fonda Lac, Wis. for a year.  Barb moved back to Mason City and worked at David Manufacturing, and then Principal Insurance Company for 25 years before retiring.

Barb was united in marriage to Donald Willier in September of 1971 and to this union two children were born, Brad and Jennifer.  Barb and Don later divorced.

Barb loved to sew, watch old movies, read and scrapbook before she became legally blind.  She looked forward to her grandchildren and her daughter visiting from New York.

Barb is survived by her daughter, Jenny (Jeff) Arbeit; grandchildren, Olive and Cleo Arbeit, Austin Willier, Savannah Willier; and a great-granddaughter, Bailey Willier; siblings, Jerry (Kathi) Clark, Dee Ristau, Dorothy Mullinax, Jan Treat, Duane (Mary) Clark and a brother-in-law, Dick Dawson.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents; son, Brad; sister, Mary Dawson; brothers-in-law, Robert Ristau and Robert Treat.

Arrangements are with Major Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory, Mason City.
