Board chooses superintendent search firm

The Clear Lake School Board unanimously chose McPherson & Jacobson, of Omaha, Neb., as the firm they want to help them find a new school superintendent.

The Board has scheduled a meeting for 5:30 today (Wednesday, Jan. 13) to identify the timeline and criteria they will use in the search.

The Board listened to presentations from three firms, including McPherson & Jacobson,  Jan. 6.  Cedar Rapids-based Ray and Associates Inc. and the Grundmeyer Leadership Trust, from Des Moines, were also interested in the job.

The contract McPherson & Jacobson will sign with the district identifies a base fee of $6,500, estimated advertising costs of $800 to $1,000, $75 per candidate background check, and $500 per day for onsite interviews with candidates.
