Bonnie Evenson
Bonnie L. Evenson (Myers), 83, of North Fond du Lac, Wis., formerly of Clear Lake, passed away Friday, July 10, at St. Agnes Hospital, in Fond du Lac.
Bonnie was born May 16, 1932 to Lawrence and Reva (Roderick) Myers. She attended Mason City, Iowa schools. She moved to Fond du Lac in 2006 to be near her daughters. Bonnie married Donald Amundson on Feb. 12, 1949 and they had four children, Dennis, Donna, Jay and Jo Dee. After Don’s death in 1970 Bonnie married Steve Barlow in 1973. They divorced in 1985 and she later married Richard Evenson in 1990.
Bonnie held many jobs over the years including working at the Clear Lake Bakery, The Surf Ballroom, Unisys, Clear Lake Senior Center and she was most well known as the manager of the Harbor Inn, in Ventura, after Don passed away in 1970. Most recently, right up until becoming ill, she was a foster grandparent at in the Fond du Lac school district.
Bonnie loved to bake for family and friends. She was well known for her mint brownies, salted nut rolls and sugar cookies.
Her survivors include: son, Dr. Dennis Amundson, and wife, Dr. Stephanie Brodine, of San Diego, Calif.; daughter, Donna Amundson, of Fond du Lac; daughter, JoDee Williams, of Van Dyne, Wis.; her brother, Gordon Myers, and wife, Sharon, of Clear Lake; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Reva Myers; husbands, Donald Amundson and Richard Evenson; and son, Jay Amundson, and his wife, Linda.
A celebration of life will be held in Clear Lake on Sept. 26, 2015 (more information will be provided closer to the date). Cards and memorials can be sent to the family at: Jo Dee Williams, N9551 Van Dyne Rd, Van Dyne, Wis. 54979. Memorials will be used towards a donation in her name to Roberts School where she was known as “Grandma Bonnie” by many children.
