Cardinals take a hard hit against Denver

It was a tough night for the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura girls soccer team when they faced a talented Denver team on Friday, May 12.  The Cardinals took a hard hit, falling, 10-0.

“Denver is the best soccer team I have coached against when it comes to moving the ball and communicating on the field,” said Coach Josh Banse.  “They are well coached and you can tell they have been playing together for a long time.”

The Cardinals had opportunities throughout the game, but Denver was always where they needed to be.

Goalie Morgan Westendorf had 10 saves for the Cards.

“Morgan did everything she could do, along with our defense, to slow them down.  They are just a good team,” said Banse.

Coach Banse said the team is working towards their goal of winning when it counts, and that is at Regionals.
