CL and GHV girls compete in Regional golf tournament Clear Lake girls take championship

The Clear Lake girls golf team won the Class 3A, Region 4A meet at Bear Creek Golf Course in Forest City Monday afternoon, May 16.  The Lions, as well as Garner-Hayfield-Ventura’ Kyleigh Slaichert and Bailee Frayne will now advance to the Region 4 final at Legends Trail Golf Course in Parkersburg Monday, May 23.

Clear Lake posted a score of 381, led by medalist Emily Snelling  with a (36-38) 74.  The Lions’ Ashley DeLong was runner-up with a (41-45) 86.

Osage was second in the team standings with a score of 408 and also moves on to the Region final.  GHV was third with 429.

Jordyn Barragy and Erin Carew provided Clear Lake’s other counting scores.  Barragy had rounds of 48 and 61 for a 109.  Carew had a 53 and 59 for 112.

Slaichert finished with a (44-43) 87 and Frayne was right behind at (43-47) 90.    Also golfing for GHV was Paige Penning (65-61) 126 and Rachel Enright (62-64) 126.
