CL girls beat Nevada

The Clear Lake girls tennis team notched a win on Friday.  The Lions edged Nevada, 5-4.

Clear Lake won four of six singles matches, but didn’t secure the win until the doubles team of Aimee Groeneweg and Whitney Finer outlasted their opponents, 9-7.

Kaley Meyer (CL) def.  Madison McGriffin, 8-6

Dani Mennenga (CL) lost to  Ellie Gray, 1-8

Aimee Groeneweg (CL) def. Emma DePenning, 8-1

Emily Roberts (CL) def. JayLyn Schakel, 8-4

Whitney Finer (CL) def. August Martinez, 8-6

Haley Jackson (CL) lost to Paige Handsaker, 5-8

Doubles

Meyer/Mennega lost to McGriffin/Gray, 3-8

Groeneweg/Finer def. DePenning/Martinez, 9-7

Roberts/Jackson lost to Schakel/Handsaker, 2-8
