Clifford Mourlam

Clifford Edward Mourlam, 95, of Clear Lake, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in, Mason City, Iowa.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Pat Hall officiating.  Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, in Mason City.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice of North Iowa.

Cliff was born Oct. 14, 1920, the son of Charles and Ida (Hilpiper) Mourlam, in rural Woolstock, Iowa.  He married Marie Myhre on Aug. 24, 1953, in Nevada, Iowa.

Cliff grew up and attended school in rural Woolstock.  He worked with his father on the family farm, before working for State Brand Creamery in Mason City.  He enjoyed music and ballroom dancing; especially getting to know the many bands that played at the Surf Ballroom.

Cliff is survived by three nephews, Michael (Bev Roback) Anderson, of St. Louis Park, Minn., Jerry (Mary) Claude, of Chandler, Az., and Larry (Dorene) Wilson, of Great Falls, Mont.  He will be missed by his dancing family and many friends and neighbors throughout the Clear Lake and Mason City area.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; five sisters; and a brother.
