Community input welcome in superintendent search

The Clear Lake Board of Education has selected McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C., Executive Recruitment and Development to assist them in the important task of selecting superintendent candidates for the board to interview.

Community members are invited to provide valuable input into determining the qualities of the next Superintendent. The community meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 3,  at 6 p.m.in the Clear Lake High School Conference Room.  Consultants from the search firm will be present to gather input from the community. The meeting is open to any patron who wishes to provide input.

Individuals who are unable to attend one of the public meetings will have the option to respond to the same input questions online. The questions are available at www.macnjake.com or the Clear Lake School District website (www.clearlakeschools.org). They will be online from Feb. 3-8.

The School Board unanimously chose McPherson & Jacobson, of Omaha, Neb., as the firm they want to help them find a new school superintendent.  The firm will be paid a base fee of $6,500, estimated advertising costs of $800 to $1,000, $75 per candidate background check, and $500 per day for onsite interviews with candidates.

Anita Micich has served as superintendent of the Clear Lake School District on a shared basis with the Mason City School District since the 2010-11 school year.  Micich will be solely employed by Mason City in 2016-17.
