Delores J. Ackarman
Delores J. Ackarman, 89, of Clear Lake, formerly of Ventura, Iowa died peacefully on April 27, 2017 at Hospice of North Iowa in Mason City, Iowa.
Funeral service were held on Monday, May 1, 2017, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Ventura, with Pastor Jesse Burns officiating. Burial was in Clear Lake Cemetery.

Delores was born May 26, 1927, on a farm near Garner, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Ida (Hiller) Bast. She was baptized June 10, 1927 and confirmed March 17, 1940 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Garner. Delores graduated May 17, 1944 from Ventura High School.
She was united in marriage to Donald Ackarman on Nov. 25, 1945, in the St. Patrick’s Catholic parsonage. To this union three children were born, Craig, Vickie and Jill.
Delores was a homemaker and farm wife. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and baking. She was an active partner in the farming operation until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of the Union Dozen Club, Redeemer Lutheran Church and Redeemer Dorcas Society from 1946 to present and cooked and served many meals at the Ventura Gun Club.
Delores is survived by her son, Craig (Linda) Ackarman, Ventura; two daughters, Vickie (Steve) Nelson, Emmons, Minn., and Jill Wilhelm, Clear Lake; grandchildren, Tim (Lynne) Ackarman, Miller, Iowa, Trisca (Kent) Mick, Grinnell, Iowa, Tami (Zach) Dillavou, Forest City, Iowa, Brad Olson, Emmons, and April (Collin Thomas) Wilhelm, Minneapolis, Minnesota and D.J. Wilhelm, Erie Pennsylvania; great grandchildren, Josilin, Brea, Shae and Ty Dillavou and Olivia Mick; sister-in-law, Charolette Ackerman, Waukee, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald in 2010; and sister, Dorothy Held in 2017.
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
