Donna Arlene Low was born on August 25, 1933, in Glenville, Minnesota, the daughter of Clarence and Luella (Freeman) Low. She was a graduate of Fertile High School; a talented athlete, she played basketball. She continued her education at Waldorf College in Forest City. She was united in marriage to Earl Miller on October 18, 1951, in Clear Lake; they were blessed with four children.
Donna was a woman of deep faith, dedicating much of her life to service, family, and community. She began by laboring in the fields picking onions. She worked at Decker, Armour and State Brand. Later, she became a secretary at Miller’s Diesel, a role she took great pride in.
Beyond work, Donna cherished the outdoors. She and Earl shared a love for camping and fishing, spending summers in Minnesota and winters in Texas, always eager to make new friends and create lasting memories. A longtime member of the Fertile Church of Christ, she devoted herself to teaching Sunday school and leading
youth group. More recently, she was a member of Celebration Community Church, where her faith continued to be a guiding force in her life. Donna spent the last year and a half at Apple Valley Assisted Living, where she cherished her new friendships.
Above all, Donna’s greatest joy was her family. She loved cheering on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren at their school events, always their biggest supporter.
Donna is survived by her children, Sheila (Michael) Ball, Arlyn (Claudia) Miller, Daniel (Penny) Miller, LuAnn (Dick) Paulson; grandchildren, Stefanie (Dean) Black, Staci (John) Scheppler, Angie (Dan) Schmidt, Alicia (Erik) Grimm, Kara (Tom) Kopecky, Krista (Philip) Stec, Heather (Joshua) Schulze, Joshua Miller, Courtney (Chris) Lorenz and Kelsey (Zach) Kuns; numerous great-grandchildren; siblings, Beverly (Ralph) Smith, Eugene (Lois), Low; sisters-in-law and brother in law, Dianne Miller, Eva Miller and Jean (Dan) Blake; along with many nieces and nephews, cousins and her faithful companion dog Lucy.
