Emergency vehicle donated
The members of the Clear Lake Fire Department were excited and surprised this past week when they learned of a donation to the department’s inventory of emergency vehicles by friends of the department, Mark and Diane Holt. The Holts donated a 2016 Polaris Ranger Crew 900 to the department. This all terrain vehicle is equipped with a four person enclosed and heated cab, a rubberized track drive system, emergency and high intensity scene lighting. The ATV is capable of carrying a crew of four firefighters and a 1,000 pound payload. The tracked drive system will enable the unit to be much more suited for use in deep snow, in the various wooded areas around the region, and in soft farm fields. The unit will accept the departments pump and emergency medical treatment modules that can be interchanged into the bed of the ATV. Included in the delivery were tires that can be switched out for the tracks for use on hard surfaces. -Reporter photo
