Florence V. “Pat” Edwards

Florence Virginia “Pat” Edwards, 104, of Clear Lake, died Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Oakwood Care Center in Clear Lake.

A graveside inurnment was held on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at the Clear Lake Cemetery, with the Rev. Paul Evans officiating.

Family suggests memorial contributions to the Clear Lake United Methodist Church, 508 2nd Ave. N., Clear Lake.

Pat was born Oct. 4, 1912, the daughter of Roy and Rose (Hall) French, in Mason City, Iowa.  She married Lyle Edwards on Nov. 27, 1938, in Clear Lake.

A graduate of Clear Lake High School, Pat worked for the Clear Lake Telephone Company for many years, as well as working as a secretary for the Cerro Gordo County Engineers Office.  She was a member of the Clear Lake United Methodist Church, Royal Neighbors, and WaTanYe Club.

Pat is survived by a son, Gary L. (Mary) Edwards, of Rogers, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Greg (Suzanne) Edwards, of Marion, Iowa, Sari Edwards, of Lake Mills, Iowa, Becky Edwards, of Walters, Minn., Katy (Justin) Moore, of Springdale, Ariz., and Elizabeth (Steve) Powers, of Springdale; and a sister-in-law, Lorraine French, of Clear Lake; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters, and a brother.

Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
