Gerhardt and Loge to compete in doubles at State Tennis Tournament
The Clear Lake doubles team of Jaxson Gerhardt and Ben Loge have qualified for the state tournament. The two finished second in the District meet played Monday, May 9, in Decorah.
The Lion pair lost to Ramker/Becker from Waverly Shell-Rock in the finals.
The Lions also finished second in the District team race. They tied with W-SR, but the team title went to the fourth tie-breaker to decide who got second place.
The Lions will host Waverly on Friday at 10 a.m. in a preliminary Sub-State match.
In other District action, the Clear Lake doubles team of Justin Kerr and Jack Crane won their first round match before losing in the second round. Carter Markwardt also won his first round match before dropping his second round contest.
