GHV girls third at home meet

It was a successful home meet for the GHV girls. They placed third at the Don Hoppel Co-ed Relays held on Monday, April 30. Forest City won the meet with 130 points, followed by Osage with 125.5 and GHV with 71.5. Eight teams competed in the meet.
A highlight of the meet was the shuttle hurdle team winning the event with a time of 1:11.52. The team consisted of Madeline Hinz, Mara Anderson, Rachel Hejlik and Jillian Heitland. Hinz went on to place third in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.17.
Jayden Hughes had a great night, capturing second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.69. She was also third in the 100 meters with a time of 14.08.
Abby Christians was second in the 3000 meter run with a time of 12:22.89. She also placed fifth in the 1500 meter run in 5:32.76.
The 4x100 team of Hejlik, Hinz, Emma Whelan and Hughes crossed the line in second place with a time of 55.22.

•Long Jump: Hinz, 4th, 14’01”
•Shot Put: Hejlik, 3rd, 32’2.5”
