GHV lands three on NIC lists

The Garner-Hayfield/Ventura baseball team had three players named to the North Iowa Conference All-Conference lists.

Named to the NIC second team roster were juniors Payton James and Harley Forry.  James was a offensive leader with a .286 batting average in NIC games with 11 RBIs.  He was also a leading pitcher for the Cardinals, finishing with three NIC wins and striking out 48 batters.  Forry played center field for the Cards with a .949 fielding average.  At bat, Forry hit .300 with 16 stolen bases.

Freshman Nick Joynt earned honorable mention status on the NIC list.  He hit .272 in conference games with 15 RBIs.  He was also solid on defense, with a .988 fielding average.

The Cardinals finished sixth in the NIC with a record of 8-12.  Newman Catholic won the conference with a record of 20-0.
