GHV trap shooting team competes in two invitationals

Mohawk Invite

On Monday, May 1, the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura trap shooting team participated in the Mohawk Invite held at the Ventura Gun Club. There were approximately 180 participants in the meet from Cedar Falls, Waverly-Shell Rock, Osage, Northwood-Kensett, Charles City, Nashua-Plainfield and Mason City.

The GHV Red Squad placed third at the meet.  Members of the squad include Chase Moorehead, Clay Johnson, Cameron Jackson, Zach Abbas and Brody Siems.

Charles City Invite

The Garner-Hayfield-Ventura trap shooting team participated in the Nashua Meet held on Saturday, May 6.

The GHV team consisting of Keegan Sassaman-Clark, Zach Abbas, Clay Johnson, Chase Moorehead and Cameron Jackson placed second.  The team missed first place by just one target.

Dakota Markla, of the GHV team, earned second place after a tie with a score of 47.  This led to a shoot off.  Sassaman-Clark placed third after a three-way shoot off.
