CL 1, GHV 0
The Lions faced Garner-Hayfield-Ventura for the third time this season on Monday, May 10. Coach Greg Jennings described the meeting as “a game of intensity and physicality.”
“The girls played great. We had great control of the game keeping it out of our goal keepers hands. My defense has two new faces back there. We had some big injuries in the past week which both were in the defense. Ali Lincicum, a kid who has never played defense, has stepped up big for us back there. She’s has a good soccer IQ and has been doing great back there despite this all being new to her,” said the coach.
The Lions came away with a 1-0 victory over the Cardinals with a goal from the team’s leading scorer, Darby Dodd.
