The Iowa High School Golf Coaches Association recently held its annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony and 2014-15 awards banquet. Clear Lake’s Emily Snelling and Dane Waldron, along with former Coach Fred Wieck, were all honored at the banquet.
Snelling and Waldron were presented with Player of the Year awards. Snelling was able to attend the award ceremony, but Waldron could not.
Coach Wieck was inducted into the High School Golf Hall of Fame. He was nominated by Eric Perry for the honor.
In addition to being honored at the Awards Banquet, Snelling and Waldron were also in the Parade of Champions held during the Girls State Basketball Tournament in recognition of their individual State Golf titles and for winning the Coed Golf title.
Snelling, a junior, will be returning this season to the Lion squad. Waldron graduated from CLHS and is a member of the Northwestern University golf team.
