Jack D. Hill
Jack Duane Hill, 85, of Clear Lake, died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, in Mason City, Iowa.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. John Gossman officiating. Burial was in Clear Lake Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army.

Jack was born Sept. 3, 1930, the son of Lyle and Marjorie (Kutzner) Hill, in Mason City. He married Renate M. Maroschek on Nov. 23, 1953, in Germany.
A graduate of Mason City High School, Jack enlisted in the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a physician’s assistant while serving in the Army and later was a physician’s assistant at a federal prison in Springfield, Mo. He retired from the military after 21 years.
Jack enjoyed fishing, raising many birds including his parakeets, and spending his winters in Texas.
Jack is survived by his wife, Renate, of Clear Lake; a sister, Joanne (Dean) Snyder, of Clear Lake; four nephews, Don (Jane) Snyder, of Ames, Dave (Vickie) Snyder, of Clear Lake, Dale (Kathy) Snyder, of Clear Lake, and Steve (Deb) Hill, of Mesa, Az.; cousins, Kenton Kutzner, of Clear Lake, and Richard (Diane) Kutzner, of Casa Grande, Az.; a sister-in-law, Elsie Maroschek, of Germany; many nieces and nephews in Germany; and great nieces and nephews in Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Don (Ann) Hill.
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
