James M. Jordan
James Michael Jordan, 73, of Garner, Iowa, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, at Concord Care Center, Garner.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, Oct. 5, 2015, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Garner, with the Rev. James William Dubert officiating. Burial was in the Clear Lake Cemetery.
Family suggests memorial contributions to St. Boniface Catholic Church or Hospice of North Iowa.
Jim was born Sept. 18, 1942, the son of Leo and Bertha (Dankbar) Jordan, in Mason City. He grew up on a farm northeast of Ventura and graduated from Ventura High School.
Jim had been employed by the Clear Lake and Garner Sale Barns, and also ConAgra Foods in Britt, Iowa. He lived in Garner since 1980 and was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Jim loved to garden, visit his sister’s farm in St. Ansgar, Iowa, on weekends, and have coffee with friends. He also enjoyed watching football and basketball games on TV.
Jim is survived by a sister, Julie (Garry) Neeley, of St. Ansgar; a brother, Jerry (Donna) Jordan, of Cedar Falls, Iowa; a niece, Michelle (Nick) Tovar, of Waterloo; a nephew, Tom (Erin) Jordan, of Iowa City; two great-nieces, Eva and Frances Jordan; and two great-nephews, Jordan Tovar and Leo Jordan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jim’s family would like to thank Concord Care Center in Garner and Hospice of North Iowa for their loving care shown to Jim.
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
