Janine Rue Cramer

Janine Rue Cramer, 77, passed away on February 22, 2025 at her home. A visitation will be held at Iles Westover Chapel on Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 5-7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Waukee Community Church on Friday, March 7, 2025 beginning at 11 a.m. A lunch will follow the service. Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery.
Janine was born on June 30th 1947 to Jean and Arnold Stonebraker who preceded her in death. Also preceding her was her brother Joe Stonebraker. She was devoted to her mother while she was living; they spent almost every day together.
She started doing volunteer work as a Candy Striper during high school and continued volunteering throughout her married life. She helped Lutheran Social Services. Volunteered as a member of the Red Cross, dedicating one day a week for five years at the VA Hospital in Des Moines.
After moving to Waukee in 1979 she was active in the Waukee Woman’s Club serving several years as Secretary and then President. Also at the national level with the Greater Federation of Women’s Clubs.
She was secretary of the Waukee Library Foundation and instrumental in promoting the first Festival of Trees fundraiser. She served on the Board of Directors at the Adel Women’s Crisis Center and also worked as an election official.
After her husband retired they spent 8 years in Mesa, Ariz., as snow birds and enjoyed their condo in Clear Lake. She is survived by her husband of over 56 years Don. His two children, she claims as her own, Kathy (Craig LaLone) Cramer of Washington and Mike (Pauline) Cramer of Indianola. Three grandsons Justin (Hannah) LaLone, Kyle (Christina) Cramer and Ray (Heather) Cramer. Four great granddaughters Ellie, Paisley, Oaklee and Sylvie. One great grandson Kasey and two step great grandsons Caden and Austin. A nephew Ryan Stonebraker and his daughter Elana. They loved taking care of their Waukee acreage and entertaining there for over 42 years, before settling in Clive.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Waukee Community Church or the Blessman Ministry.
