Jay A. Zirbel

Jay A. Zirbel passed away unexpectedly at Santa Rosa Kaiser Hospital, in Santa Rosa, Calf. on Nov. 21, at the age of 62 of cardiac arrest.

Jay was born in Mason City.  He grew up in Clear Lake and graduated from Clear Lake High School, class of 1977.  Soon after graduation he moved to Northern California.

Jay retired from the County of Sonoma in 2016. 

He is predeceased by his parents, Max and Lena (Peyton) Zirbel, and his two brothers, Roger and Michael Zirbel.

He is survived by his son, Scott Zirbel; daughter-in-law, Ashley; grandchildren, Kiera, age 2, and Miles, age six months; sister, Julie Wiebenga; and Jay’s girlfriend, Lisa Matz.

Jay will always be remembered for his love of the Russian River, redwoods, Harley Davidson and love for his grandchildren, family and friends.
