Jessica Brooke Allen

Jessica Brooke Allen, 44, of Clear Lake passed away at her home on March 18, 2025.

Jessica was born March 4, 1981 in Mason City, IA to Jay and Trish Allen and joined sister Diana to complete her family of four. She graduated from Clear Lake High School and attended the University of Iowa, then moved to Hollywood, Calif. where she worked in the movie industry. Jessica was a paint and roto artist and worked on four movies. She went on to become a bartender at The Oaks in Sherman Oaks, Calif. where she excelled and was very happy making friends and serving customers.

She married the love of her life, Matthew Kerr, in San Marcos, Calif. on October 17, 2015 attended by a small group of family and close friends. They moved to Clear Lake in October, 2017 to begin life in North Iowa and start new careers, she as a travel agent and Matt as a bartender.

Jessica was a talented artist with a special flair for drawing and painting. She imbued her work with the same charming whimsy that defined her personality. She was caring and generous and took delight in creating special gifts for people and their pets. Her lifetime love of cats was fulfilled by always having a kitty nearby.

Jessica enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings, sharing family dinners at the Northwestern Steakhouse, decorating her special home, and most importantly being with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew Kerr.

Jessica is survived by her parents, Jay and Trish Allen of Clear Lake, sister Diana Dial, her husband Nic and daughters Penelope and Camila, of Lakeville, Minn., aunt Teri Allen of Glendale, Calif., cousin Libbey Wood of Banks, Ore., cousin Lisa Crosser of Seligman, Ariz, and her beloved cat Fury.
