John M. Huff

John M. Huff, 78, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and formerly of Mason City, Iowa, died Tuesday, March 1, 2016, in St. Petersburg.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2016, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, with Pastor Matthew Muters of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church officiating.  Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Major Erickson Funeral Home and continue one hour prior to the service.  Interment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

John was born Dec. 1, 1937 in Mason City, the son of Lee O. and Lillian E. (Stewart) Huff.  He graduated from Mason City High School.  John married Judith Harms on Nov. 1, 1958, in Mason City.  John worked as a foreman for Interstate Power Company (Alliant Energy) for 44 years.  He retired in 2000.  A few years ago, he moved to Florida to live with his son, Steve.

John is survived by his son, Steven, of St. Petersburg; one brother, Clifford (Jane) Huff, of Hampton, Iowa; and one sister, Vivian Groom of Joplin, Mo.

John was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judy; sons, Brett, Todd and Kelly; brothers, Leonard, Lee, Bill, Lynn, Norman, Calvin and David; and one sister, Eileen DeMaris.

  Major Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory, Mason City, was in charge of arrangements.
