Jones leads CL X-C girls

The Lady Lions were led by last year’s State qualifier, sophomore Gretchen Jones, who finished fifth in a time of 21:52.  Senior Erin O’Tool was second for the Lions, finishing 11th overall with a time of 23:27.

Sophomore Rissa Barragy earned a spot in the top 20, finishing 19th with a time of 25:21.  A pair of freshmen rounded out the Lions’ scoring five, with Katelyn Moore finishing 22nd in a time of 25:38 and Bailey Larsen finishing 25th in 26:07.  Rounding out the varsity runners were the Tesar sisters, sophomore Tali Tesar finishing 35th (27:49) and freshman Nikki Tesar finishing 39th place (28:40).

“This squad looks much improved from last year,” said Coach DiMarco.  “We ran a predominately freshman lineup, and now these girls have a year of experience and have come into the season much stronger.”

Other strong performances included:  Kara Reineke 41st place, Krystle Lu 49th place, Madison Brandt 50th place, Michaela Niles 51st place, Ellie Biebesheimer 53rd place, Breauna Archer 54th place, Madison Gochanour 56th place, Ivy Pruisman 58th and Aliyah Bennett 59th place.
