Joseph Ibarra, Sr.
Joseph Alvaro Ibarra, Sr., of Clear Lake, died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, in Mason City, Iowa. A funeral service will held at 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, at Clear Lake Christian Church, 302 Highway 18 W., Clear Lake, with Pastor Drew Rietjens officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake. Joseph was born the son of Francisco and Esperanza (Munoz) Ibarra in Allende, Coahuila, Mexico. He was united in marriage to Emma Zertuche on Aug. 29, 1975, in Mexico. To this union, three children were born, Joey Jr., Estela, and Alejandro. A graduate of Clear Lake High School, Class of 1966, Joseph began Ibarra Industrial, Commercial, Institutional Services in 1985. During his time owning and operating the business, he touched many lives throughout North Iowa while spreading the word of the Lord. Joseph was a member of Clear Lake Christian Church in Clear Lake, where he was a Trustee for the church, was involved with the Music Ministries and also played the congas. He was an extremely caring and loving man, and enjoyed spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren. He liked socializing with friends, listening to music, and taking walks by the lake with his wife, Emma. Joseph is survived by his wife, Emma Ibarra, of Clear Lake; three children, Joey Ibarra, Jr. of Rochester, Minn., Estela (Jason) Dunning, of Clear Lake, and Alejandro (Katie) Ibarra, of Clear Lake; six grandchildren, Lexi Jones, Caden Jones, Addison Jones, Christian Dunning, Aubree Ibarra, and Oscar Ibarra; four siblings, Rudy (Helen) Ibarra. of Clear Lake, Alicia Vasquez, of Mason City, Josephine (David) McDevitt, of Clear Lake, and Mary (Don) Burgess, of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Esperanza Ibarra; a brother, Francisco Ibarra, Jr. and a brother-in-law, Rufus Vasquez. Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
