Kay Meredith Boehnke was born in Mason City, Iowa, on Nov. 27, 1940 to Raymond and Ruby Boehnke.  Kay attended elementary school at St. John’s Lutheran Parochial School, Garner, Iowa.  She graduated from Ventura High School in 1958. While at Ventura High School, Kay was active in band, choir, newspaper staff, cheerleading and basketball.  Kay served in the United States Air Force at Lackland Air Force Base and was honorably discharged in July 1960.

Kay moved to Minnesota from Iowa and met her husband, Alden Lundebrek in the fall of 1962.  Kay and Alden were married on April 27, 1963 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Garner. Alden and Kay eventually settled on a farm outside of Starbuck where they raised their two children.

As a housewife, Kay was actively involved in the daily lives of her husband and children and never missed an opportunity to attend the activities that Dana and John were involved.  She took great pride in being a housewife and mother and her children and grandchildren were her greatest accomplishment.  Kay looked forward to meeting her first great-grandchild, Grayson Walker, born April 11, and was overjoyed that she was able to meet him!

Kay was involved in many activities throughout her lifetime in addition to working outside of the home.  She was an amazing cook and enjoyed canning vegetables from her garden.  Kay enjoyed traveling with her husband, Alden.  They took many trips within the U.S. and also spent a winter in Texas.  Kay and Alden moved to Missouri for a few years where they enjoyed meeting new friends and going for pontoon rides on Lake of the Ozarks.  They eventually returned home to Starbuck to be near their children and family.

Kay loved to dance and her greatest partner on the dance floor and in life, was her husband, Alden.  He was her greatest love and support.  Though her health had declined over the years, he never left her side.  He was with her until the end.

Kay is survived by her husband of 53 years, Alden Lundebrek; her three children, Dana (Charles) Parks, of St. Paul Park, Minn., John (Heather) Lundebrek, of Otsego, Minn. and Sharon (Ric) McCarney/Fuchs, Paynesville, Minn; five grandchildren, Hannah Parks, Rachel Parks, Andrew Parks, Ethan Lundebrek, Alex Lundebrek; her first great-grandchild, Grayson Walker; four sisters, Virginia (Donald) Brocker, Woodbury, Minn., Barbara Needham, Mound, Minn., Patricia (Richard) Nordman, Arlington Heights, Ill. and Rebecca (David) Ziesmer, Garner; and many nieces and nephews, including her four Godchildren, Patrice Horner, Jonathan Needham, Angela Ryg and Alison Ziesmer.
