Memorial Day remembrances include special tribute

A steady stream of people made their way to Clear Lake V.F.W. Post 4868 Friday and though the weekend to  spend time admiring a “Tribute to Fallen Veterans.”

V.F.W. and V.F.W. Auxiliary members John and Mary Ann Aslakson were instrumental in compiling and presenting photos of 225 deceased veterans in a special display unveiled Friday morning.  The veterans were all either from Clear Lake or family members of those who live here.

The display also included a photo of Carrie Heitland, who actively promoted patriotism throughout her lifetime in Clear Lake.
