Mason City swept the Clear Lake Lions in the opening meet for the girls tennis team. The Mohawks claimed all six singles and three doubles matches for a 9-0 score.
“This year’s team is small and a little inexperienced at the varsity level, with only one returning letter winner and four previous junior varsity members and four that never played. They went out there and worked against the wind and the heat and did well,” said Head Coach Cat Aragon. “We found things we need work on and some things to adjust. We are excited for what this season will bring.”
