Morris L. Trimble
Morris LaVerne Trimble, 93, of Clear Lake, died Tuesday, Aug 2, 2016, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa.A celebration of Morris’s life was held on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2016, at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with Msgr. John Hemann officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, with military honors provided by the Clear Lake V.F.W. The family suggests memorials to Hospice of North Iowa.Morris was born on April 12, 1923, in rural Clear Lake, on the family farm, where he resided his entire life. He was the son of John David and Martha (DeVries) Trimble.Morris attended country grade school and Clear Lake High School.At the age of 15 he began his career and passion for flying and continued up to the age of 90.He served in the United States Army Air Force during WWII.Following the service, he farmed the family farm northwest of Clear Lake. He worked for Evans Air, Garner, Iowa, as a mechanic. In 1971 he founded Forest City Aviation, which he and his wife, Lois, operated until he retired in 1991.Morris married Catherine Lois Hildman on Oct. 8, 1947, in Wesley, Iowa.He enjoyed traveling with his wife and family.He was a technical advisor for Experimental Aircraft Association, Clayton-Folkerts Chapter 94. He built and test flew many aircraft over his lifetime.Morris is survived by his five children, James David (Diane) Trimble, Iowa City, Iowa, Thomas John (Elvira) Trimble, Champlin, Minn., Nancy Ann (Steven) Toepfer, Oacoma, S.D., Richard LaVerne (Theresa) Trimble, Forest City, Iowa and Ted Allen (Lori Hackbarth) Trimble, Clear Lake; 11 grandchildren, Alicia (Ian Lyttle) Trimble, John Trimble, Jake (Stephanie) Trimble, Heather (Jesse Amundson) Trimble, Christine Mallare, Davine Trimble, Eric Toepfer, Amber (Jason) Stone, Tyler Trimble, Tricia Trimble and Josh Trimble; two great-grandchildren, Evan and Breah Trimble; brother-in law, Dennis (Glenda) Hildman; and two sisters-in-law, Joyce Sankey and Ruth Hildman; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; infant son, Sidney Allen Trimble; one brother, Roy Trimble; and one sister, Angeline Fuller.
