Pops vs. Kids in 1965

Every Tuesday night in the summer of 1965 at the Bob Cash farm, northwest of Clear Lake, a baseball game was played in the Pasture League.  The league only had two teams, the “Kids” and the “Pops.”  Youngsters played with the “Kids” until they were married.  As soon as they get married they had to switch to the “Pops.”  There was a job for every family member willing to participate in the league.  Above are the official score keepers, Marie Hyde, Linda Pueggel and Mary Menke.  The girls not only keep score, but also play ball when the sides need to be made even.  Below, before each game a bright green flag was raised by Walter Bill Cash, 13.  Helping him was Ann Hyde, Tom Hyde and Steve Cash.
