Post-season honors given to CL golfers
The Iowa Golf Coaches Association has announced its post season awards and honors for this season. Clear Lake is well represented and received many post season honors.
For the girls golf team, Emily Snelling was named 3A Player of the Year for the third time. She also was named to the First Team All-State Team and First Team All-Tournament team at the State meet. Ashley DeLong was named First Team All-State and Second Team All-Tournament.
On the boys golf team, Thomas Storbeck was the recipient of a $500 scholarship award based on his accomplishments, grade point average and service to the game. He also was named First Team All-State and Second Team All-Tournament at the State meet. Kyle Calaguas was named Second Team All-State and Second Team All-Tournament.
Another honor Clear Lake received was Eric Perry, the boys golf coach, being named Class 2A Coach of the Year by the Association. He was Coach of the Year in 2005, 2006 and 2011.
“On behalf of the Clear Lake school district I would like to congratulate these players and Coach Perry on these awards,” said Dale Ludwig, Clear Lake Athletic Director.
