Rev. Keith L. Scott

Rev. Keith Leroy Scott, 82, of Indianola, Iowa, and formerly of Clear Lake, passed away on July 20, 2016.

A memorial service was held on Monday, July 25, 2016, at the Indianola First United Methodist Church.Keith was born on Jan. 1, 1934, to Clyde and Grace Scott in Marion, Iowa. He was a 1952 graduate of Walker High School.  Keith married Evelyn Johnson in 1956. He received his bachelor’s degree from Cornell College in 1956. He then attended Drew University in Madison, N.J. to receive his masters of divinity and graduated in 1959.

He began his career as a Methodist Pastor in 1959 at Nemaha, Iowa. Keith’s last appointment with the Iowa Annual Conference ended in 2002 at Geneseo, United Methodist Church in rural Buckingham.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; children, Susanna (Myron) Bokemper, Dawn Johnson; grandchildren, Erica Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Nathaniel Johnson, Jessica (Adam) Haight, Erin Bokemper, Daniel Bokemper; great grandchildren, Gage Haight, Alexis Hood; sisters-in-law, June Gellhaus, Lenora Streeter, and Elaine Bowman.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Betty Louise (Harold) Wagner, Alice Jean (Robert) Bell, Albert (Elaine) Scott; son-in-law, Michael Johnson; sister-in-law, Marilyn Peck.
