Richard A. Wilcox

Richard Allan Wilcox, 65, of Mason City, Iowa, died Sunday, April 23, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City.In accordance with Rich’s last wishes, his body has been cremated and no services are scheduled at this time.  He asked that he be remembered as he was in life.

Family suggests memorial contributions to the Richard Wilcox Memorial Fund.

Richard was born June 23, 1951, the son of Charles and Phyllis (King) Wilcox, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1969 and attended Kirkwood Community College.

Richard was employed at National Oats Co. for 19 and one-half years.  In 1974 he was married to Tracy A. Rivinius; they later divorced in 1980.

Richard moved to Milwaukee, Wis. in 1988, where he was employed at Liturgical Publications as MIS facilitator.  Later he worked at Hometown Oil and Ice as MIS manager, retiring in 2001 due to disability.  In 2006 he moved to Clear Lake, later moving to Mason City.

Richard was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Charles; and a nephew, Jason Wilcox.

Richard is survived by his partner, Ronald Fistler, of Mason City; mother, Phyllis Wilcox, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sister, Connie (Stephen) Baird, of Tampa, Fla.; niece, Stephanie (Emmerson) Catlyn, of Tampa, Fla.; niece, Alison (Robert) Williams and their children, Wyatt and Eli, of Lake Elsinor, Calif.; sister, Janice (Bill) Skeffington, of Peoria, Az.; and nephew, Sylvan (Valerie) Rechterman, of Coggon, Iowa; brother, Ronnie (Janeen) Wilcox, of Palo, Iowa, with nieces Lindsey (Chris) Peck and Megan (Ryan) Hagenow and their children; cousin, Gayla Rae (George) Duncan, of Meadville, Mo., with Keaton and Kylee (Jeffery) Mollohan; in addition, several dearly loved aunts, uncles and cousins.

Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
