Roberta R. Breshears

Roberta “Bert” Ray Breshears, 80, of Clear Lake, died Sunday, June 11, 2017, at her home.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at the Clear Lake Cemetery, in Clear Lake, with Pastor Ed Bard officiating.

Family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.

Bert was born Aug. 30, 1936, the daughter of Robert Howard and Mary Elizabeth (Morris) Gunter, in Bates City, Mo.  She was united in marriage to Floyd Breshears, and he later preceded her in death.

Bert grew up and attended school in Phoenix, Az.  She was a homemaker for most of her life and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.  She also enjoyed shopping on QVC and watching movies with family, completing various crafts, animals, wildlife and fishing.

Bert is survived by five children, Diane Breshears, of Clear Lake, Robert Breshears, of San Jacinto, Calif., JoAnn (John) Baker, of Rim Rock, Az., Gene (Cheri) Breshears, of San Jacinto, Calif. and Timothy (Kathy) Gunter, of Avilla, Mo.; 20 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd; a son, Mark Breshears; a sister, Ellen Palmer; and a brother, Lloyd Gunter.

Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
