Sandra Snider
Sandra Snider passed away on May 22, 2018, at her home in Wichita, Kan. She was born Aug. 15, 1944.
On June 16 close friends and family celebrated her life at the horse ranch of Loren Bolinger, in Albuquerque, where Sandra planned to relocate. Friends and neighbors in Wichita gathered in her memory on June 17. A family memorial will be held July 2, in Clear Lake.
Sandra, daughter of John and Marlus Perkins, grew up in Clear Lake and has been a frequent visitor. Her life-long love of horses began as a child. She rode and cared for her horse on her grandparents’, Earl and Mattie Lambert’s, farm north of Clear Lake.
Sandra graduated from Clear Lake schools and Simpson College. She lived in Denver and Wichita. She researched Arabian and Thoroughbred bloodlines and contributed online and at conferences with experts in horse genealogy. Her voice will be missed by friends and colleagues around the world.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Marlus Perkins; and brother, J. Bruce Perkins, all of Clear Lake.
She is survived by her nephew, Jeffrey Perkins (BJ) of Aurora, Ill.; nieces, Elizabeth Perkins-Brown (James) of Boise, Idaho, and Meredith Perkins-Lehman (Dan) of Apex, N.C.; sister-in-law, Jane Perkins, of Clear Lake; and four great-nephews and great-nieces.
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
