School Board races shape up
Pair of CLHS grads join incumbent Kuhlers on the ballot in Clear Lake
Three individuals will be running for three director at-large positions on the Clear Lake School Board this fall.
Incumbent Chad Kuhlers will be seeking a second term, while Dr. John Brady and Michael Moeller are first time candidates. Brady, a physician with the Hancock County Health System, and Moeller, an attorney with the Sorensen Law Office in Clear Lake, are both graduates of Clear Lake High School.
Board members whose terms are expiring, Jill Wilhelm and Jon Loge, did not file for re-election. Loge was appointed in August 2014 to fill a vacancy after Deb Betz resigned.
Four candidates for two seats at GHV
Four candidates have filed nomination papers as candidates for the new GHV Board. Two at-large board positions are retiring this year. Both incumbents have declined to run again.
Those hoping to be elected include Gene Toppin, a resident of Clear Lake who lives within the GHV School District, and Diane Frank, Jeremy Gouge and Brian Roberts, all residents of Garner.
School Board members are elected to four-year terms.
The School Board election will be held Tuesday, Sept. 8.
